Digital Shikshantar, meaning “Digital Learning Space,” is ANK Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that girls from marginalized communities are not merely consumers of technology, but creators, innovators and future leaders.

Through 50+ fully equipped STEM, AI and ML labs established in government girls’ schools, the programme is bringing hands-on learning in coding, computing, robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and emerging technologies to students who have historically had limited access to such infrastructure.

To date, the programme has reached more than 1 million girls, creating opportunities to explore technology, strengthen digital skills, build confidence and develop aspirations for future careers in STEM and the digital economy.

Advancing Girls’ Education and Empowerment

Digital Shikshantar aligns with the vision of the Government of India’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme by contributing to an enabling environment where girls can access quality education, develop skills and realise their potential.

The initiative also contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, particularly SDG Target 4.1, by supporting equitable and quality learning opportunities and strengthening access to relevant, future-ready education for girls.
